Vitamin C


  • a water soluble nutrient, meaning it dissolves in water
  • prevents scurvy, which is a prolonged lack of vitamin C
  • has over 300 jobs to do in the body, one the most important is that it makes collagen, the glue that holds us together
  • is a potent antioxidant which makes it necessary for wound or injury repair, prevention of illness and infection therefore for overall immune health, as well as in the prevention of heart disease and cancer
  • also needed for the use of iron and folate
