B Vitamins

All of the B vitamins work closely together and are all water soluble, meaning the dissolve in water.  All of the B's help to convert food into energy for the body.

B1 - Thiamin

  • necessary for cell health
  • plays a role in mental function, particularly in that of memory
  • promotes nerve health and regulates nerve growth
  • also important for heart health

B6 - Pyridoxine

  • with the help of folate and B12 it help protect heart against heart disease
  • necessary component that converts the protein you eat into the proteins you body needs for building and working such as other proteins, hormones, enzymes and neurotransmitters

Folate

  • commonly known for fetal health and the prevention of birth defects
  • helps cells growth and divide, making this nutrient important in repairs and growth
  • necessary role for mood, sleep and appetite
  • helps in prevention of heart attack and stroke
  • helps in the prevention of cancer, particularly female cancers and colon cancer
B12 - Cobalamin
  • necessary for healthy red blood cells, which in turn carry oxygen and nutrients, as well as the proper division and growth of red blood cells
  • helps in the production of immune system cells - white blood cells
  • important in production of the nerve coating substance, myelin sheath, making this nutrient crucial for mental function and nerve function and protection from autoimmune diseases.
  • work especially close with B6 and folate
  • only food in animal foods
  • helps prevent anemia
